General FAQ :
How Do You Meet New People?
As far as I know there's four ways to meet people.
1. click the 'Chat Now' button
2. check out the Groups
3. try the Chat Match feature
4. try the Public Rooms button at the bottom of the chat window; it'll open a list of the public rooms; or check here

Is there as list of the keyboard gestures?
Yes, here

Why does my name have 'Guest_' before it?
It just means that you haven't bought your name.

How do I change my outfit/style/appearance?
In the messenger, click on the 'Inventory' tab.
There there's tabs, stating what's where, double click/click on the arrow to expand it.
You'll have to open the second tab, in the clothes section, to get a specific type of clothing.
To put something on/off, click the 'put on' or 'take off' button, or just double click that product.

How do I get credits?
To get free credits go to the Spin Free or New Products
In the Spin Free, you spin free once a day and can win from 17 to 500cr.
Visit the New Products Page once a day to get 50cr.
KNOW, you can't buy gifts with free credits or give free credits to anyone.
To get real credits you must buy them, with real money, here are sites I recommend.
Cassiopeia, [hd] credits + Marionette Boutique
Both support developers and are secure.
If you live outside of the US and UK, those sites may not work, if not try IMVU.

What's a developer?
Developers are the people that make the products you see in the catalog.

How do I add someone as a buddy?
There're three ways to do this.
1. While you're chatting with the person, right click on their NAME toward the bottom of the chat window and select 'add as buddy'
2. visit their homepage [type their name into the search or right click their name/avatar] and select the 'send buddy request' button
3. in the messenger, click the 'add a buddy' button and type the person's name in.

Developing FAQ :
How do you 'develop'?
The products I make just require an opacity map and colour map.

Do you need photoshop to be a developer?
Hell no. I use Paint, Paint.net[which is free to download here] and PhotoStudio[which came free with my computer.]

So, what's an opacity map?
It's just the black and white map that decides what part of the outfit is visible and what part is invisible.
This is the opacity map for bodysuits and here's a product I made editing that map.
White parts in an opacity map are solid areas, grey parts are translucent[see through] parts
[lighter for less translucent darker for more] and black are transparent[invisible] parts.
The opacity may need to be widened to cover the whole avatar.

And a colour map?
It's the coloured version of the opacity map, that makes the products have colour.

What's a wireframe map?
This is a wireframe map, for the bodysuit.
It's just the wireframe of the 3D product. Basically it's just an outline of the product.

Do you take product requests?
I generally take requests, but after a backload of requests I take breaks.

Are there extra fees for making requests?
A lot of developers charge fees, i'm assuming because of the upload costs...
But I generally don't, it depends on the reuqest and it's difficulty, for me.

Developer FAQ :

What do you need to know to be a developer?
I didn't know much, but a familiarity with art programs is pretty much a must.
Knowing HTML would help in making your product's discription look presentable.

Does it cost to be a developer?
Aside from the fee to buy your name, no. Though it does cost credits to submit new products.

Where can I buy my name, how much does it cost?
The price varies depending on where you buy your name.
I'd suggest buying from IMVU or Cassiopeia
Both are secure sites. The cost from IMVU is $7.95USD. From Cassiopeia it's $12.49 and you get 10,000cr.

So, I've got my name, what else do I need to do to be a dev?
Sign up here and download the Previewer here
The previewer is the program used to derive/create products.
Making stickers just requires an art program capable of making images.
Try here for a tutorial on product making/rules on copyrights.

How much does it cost to submit a product?
It varies. There's a 500cr submission charge and the derivation fee ranges from 200cr to 900cr that I've seen.

How much of a profit do you make?
It depends on how much of a profit you've set the product to.
The derivation fee is also the minimum you can set your product to.

Is that all that determines the profit?
No. If the product is paid for with free credits you only get 1dev token.
A dev token is worth only 10cr ONLY when you submit a new product.
